As a member of the Held Collective, an international group of documentary photographers, I was asked to produce a personal documentary on my work.
'People & Spaces' looks at how we interact with the spaces we live in and the architectural interfaces we traverse everyday. The spaces we inhabit influence how we feel and how we act. We can perceive the vastness of a landscape by moving through it, but with architecture, the structure becomes the focal point and defines a certain route that can be followed.
My aim is to capture everyday life in a contrast to how we usually perceive a city and the frenetic energy that is held within. I have used dramatic light to accentuate shadow and shape within each frame to isolate the subject, and to capture an unguarded moment whilst shooting in plain sight.
